Q.1)What is skin?

Ans. 1)Skin is the largest organ of the body.The skin and its derivatives(hair,nails,sweat and oil glands)make up the integumentary system(protective covering).

        2)It is the outer covering of the body which protects deeper tissues&give shape to organs.In biological term skin is also called as "Cutis".

       3)In accordance to Ayurvedic acupressure the skin in our body&is representative of Akash element as akash is vast and the outer covering of earth.



Q.2)What are the Functions of Skin?

Ans. The Functions of skin are:

  • Protector of deeper tissues.
  • Barrier for pathogens&organism.
  • Acts as a sensory receptor for touch,heat,cold,hurt.
  • Synthesis Vitamin D.
  • Partial absorption&excretory power.
  • Holder of fluids&prevent dehydration.


Q,3)What do you mean by Skin Disorders?

Ans.Skin diseases means any unpleasant feeling or change in color of skin.It includes all conditions that clog,irritate or inflame your skin.Skin diseases often causes rashes or other changes in your skin"s appearance.

Q.4)What causes Skin Diseases?

Ans.Causes of Skin Diseases:

  • Bacteria trapped in your pores.
  • Conditions that affect your thyroid,kidneys or immune system.
  • Contact with environmental triggers such as allergens or another person's skin.
  • Genetics
  • Fungus or parasites living on your skin.
  • Medications,such as the ones that treat inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Viruses
  • Diabetes
  • Sun.

Q.5)What are the symptoms of Skin diseases?

Ans.The general symptoms of Skin diseases are:

  • Peeling skin.
  • Rashes,possibly with itchiness or pain.
  • Red,white or pus-filled bumps.

Ans.Most Common types of Skin Diseases:

  • Acne,blocked skin follicles that lead to oil,bacteria&dead skin build up in the pores. 
  •  Losing your hair in small patches.           
  • Eczema,dry,itchy skin that leads to swelling cracking or scaliness.
  • Psoriasis,scaly skin that may swell or feel hot.
  • Numbness or skin color change.
  • Flushed thick skin&pimples,usually on the face.
  • Uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells.
  • Patches of skin that lose pigment
  • Skin cancer.
Q.7)What are the acupressure treatment protocols associated with Skin diseases?

Ans.Acupressure treatment for skin diseases are:

  • Simple Ayurvedic Acupressure Treatment:Apply a methi strip on the mid joint of right small finger which treats itching,eczema etc.
  • Advance Acupressure Treatment:Left IF 1st Spm-2,3(-) 1,4(+).






Cleansing of Liver,Kidney and stomach acidity also cured skin problems.
